Undead Patrol

The party had opened a door into a large chamber filled with pillars.  They could not see the far side of the room but they could see the vampire, wights and zombies spread around the chamber.  After some discussion of just closing the door the party moved in to attack.  The battle was vicious and swift as the group concentrated on the vampire and he didn't last very long

The wights moved in and caused significant necrotic damage and even more when they died.  The minion zombies were easily dispatched but when they died they grabbed an adventurer near them.   This hold was difficult to escape from.  Only Pretis seemed to be able to escape them without help from others.

With the undead patrol all finished the party spread out to search the large chamber.  There was a door on the western wall and 3 doors on the north.  Moving through the western door the group found a hallway leading west and then south where it ended.  A concealed trap door in the floor was discovered.

Before heading down the trap door the party decided to search the north doors.  The middle door led to a 10 x 10 chamber with another door on the north.  Dust covered the floor of this chamber.  The door to the north led to a 30 x 20 room also covered in dust.   The other two doors merely led to 10 x 10 rooms full of dust.

So it was down the trap door which revealed a passage leading south.  The passage ended with another trap door on the ceiling which led to a north hallway with a door at the south end.  Mara led the way north past a door on the east and up a stairway which led to nowhere.  The eastern door led to another hallway curving around to the north leading to a western door.  Beyond the door was an empty 20 x 20 chamber.

So south through the door the hearty adventurers headed.  This led to a X intersection with a pit in the middle.  The party noticed several footprints in the dust coming from the west and heading south.  Then several hurried footfalls returned from the south.  Aha they had been here before.  Decided to head east to the area where they felt the presence of the Feywild the group came upon Mara's table top lying over a pit.  As they stepped over the table the group again felt a moment of vertigo and the walls again consisted of smaller stones mortared together.  The distant sound of birds wafted its way through the walls.

Moving east where they hadn't yet explored, the passage turned south into a cavern.  The cavern was partly natural and partly constructed, a faint golden mist filled the air and did not allow the group to see the back wall of the cavern.  Shallow water covered most of the floor, and a large formation of stone, about 4' high was partially obscured in the center of the cavern.   Mara moved into the cavern around to the west, Demin around to the east with Pretis following.  Lythandar and Alhellara also entered the chamber.  Alhellara was suddenly struck by the fact that this area was similar to a magical area in the Garden of Graves where the group moved into a different realm whenever they entered it.  In fact once Gofin was in a completely different realm than the rest of the party.  Recalling that there were doors out of this area Alhellara, Mara, Pretis and Lythandar moved to where a door should have been.

Pretis attacked the wall with her pick which revealed carved natural stone on the back side of the mortared stonework.  Melisana reasoned that they were in some magical area, but whenever they could leave that area they returned to the Tomb.

Meanwhile Demin was standing in the cavern when a fair elven figure appeared in the mist.  She was beautiful in appearance but foreboding in demeanor.  She did not seem pleased to see Demin.

Scorecard:  The party earned 1371 XP for the night and now have 75899 XP.  They need an additional 7101 XP to reach 17th level.
